Volunteer

Travel with purpose in Tanzania.

Spend real time with local communities, schools, and Maasai families — then carry that connection with you into the Serengeti.

Our Volunteer & Community Experiences take you off the tourist path and into everyday life in Tanzania — sharing a classroom with local children, learning from Maasai elders, or lending your skills to a project a community has already chosen for itself.

You don't have to change the whole world. Sometimes it begins with one classroom, one tree, one conversation.

Every journey starts with a placement that fits you.

Each experience is different, and activities depend on the current needs of the community you join.

Education, community development, women & girls' initiatives, environmental action, youth & sports, and skills-based placements.

What to expect

A day could look something like this.

No two days are identical, but most placements settle into a rhythm close to this.

Time Activities
7:00 AM
Breakfast with your host family or guesthouse, and a walk or short drive to the day’s placement.
8:30 AM
Morning session — a classroom, a community project, or time with a Maasai family, depending on your placement.
1:00 PM
Lunch, often shared with the people you’re working alongside — usually the best part of the day for swapping stories.
2:30 PM
Afternoon activity — sports, a craft, a project task, or free time to explore the area with your coordinator.
6:00 PM
Evenings are unstructured — rest, reflect, or join a local gathering if one’s happening.
