Full Itinerary
Day 1: Start of your Safari from Nairobi
Your safari begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), followed by a transfer to Wilson Airport for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. Please arrive at the airport at least 45 minutes to one hour before departure. Your flight departs at approximately 9:15 AM and takes about one hour, offering spectacular aerial views of Kenya’s diverse landscapes.
Upon landing at the Masai Mara airstrip, you will be welcomed by the lodge’s driver-guide and transferred to Keekorok Lodge in a comfortable 4×4 safari vehicle, such as a Land Cruiser or Land Rover. Set in the heart of the reserve, the lodge provides an ideal base for an unforgettable wildlife adventure.
If arriving on the morning flight, enjoy lunch at the lodge before taking some time to relax and soak in the beautiful surroundings. Later in the afternoon, at around 3:30 PM, head out on your first shared game drive to explore the rich plains of the Masai Mara. Watch for iconic wildlife, including lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and many other fascinating animals that inhabit the reserve.
Return to the lodge in the early evening, typically between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM, for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 2: Enjoy Full day in Masai Mara
Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the spectacular Masai Mara National Reserve with two guided game drives. Your first safari begins early in the morning, from 6:15 AM to 9:00 AM, when wildlife is at its most active. Return to the lodge for breakfast and some time to relax before heading out again for an afternoon game drive from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
As you explore the reserve’s vast plains, keep an eye out for the Big Five and other remarkable wildlife, including lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a rich variety of bird species. The cool morning and late afternoon hours provide excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings and photography.
After an exciting day in the bush, return to Keekorok Lodge in the evening for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 3: Enjoy Full day in Masai Mara
Spend another memorable day exploring the wonders of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Begin with an early morning game drive before breakfast, when the cooler temperatures and active wildlife provide some of the best opportunities for sightings. Watch as predators roam the plains and herbivores begin their day across the stunning savannah landscape.
Return to Keekorok Lodge for a relaxed breakfast and some leisure time. You may also choose to arrange a cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village with the lodge manager. This approximately one-hour experience offers a unique opportunity to learn about the traditional lifestyle, customs, and daily activities of the Maasai people, including a visit to their distinctive Manyatta homesteads. (Maasai village visits and additional activities are available at an extra cost.)
After lunch at the lodge, continue your adventure with an afternoon game drive through the reserve. Explore more of the Mara’s rich wildlife habitats and enjoy further chances to spot its incredible animals before returning to the lodge in the evening, usually between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM.
End the day with a relaxing evening, dinner, and an overnight stay at Keekorok Lodge.
Day 4: Return to Nairobi
Today marks the end of your unforgettable Masai Mara safari experience. After a leisurely breakfast, check out from Keekorok Lodge and transfer to the nearby airstrip for your scheduled 10:30 AM flight back to Nairobi.
Upon arrival at Wilson Airport, your driver-guide will be ready to welcome you and provide onward transfer to your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) for your international departure.
If you would like to explore some of Nairobi’s highlights before your flight, additional city excursions can be arranged in advance at an extra cost. You can visit selected attractions before being transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
