Designed for budget-conscious travelers, this Masai Mara safari offers an affordable way to experience one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Accommodation is provided in comfortable budget lodges or tented camps, typically located just outside the main Masai Mara National Reserve, offering excellent value without compromising your safari experience.
The safari is operated as a private tour, allowing for a more personalized journey. However, shared group departures may also be available depending on your preferred travel dates.
A sample itinerary is provided below for reference. Please note that safari prices vary by season, with the peak travel period running from July to October, while April to mid-June generally offers the lowest rates.

Full Itinerary
Day 1: Start of your Safari from Nairobi
Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel by your professional driver-guide. Depart at around 7:30 AM for a scenic drive to the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, travelling through the spectacular Great Rift Valley. The journey takes approximately 5.5 hours in your private safari vehicle.
Along the way, stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint to admire breathtaking panoramic views of one of the world’s largest geological formations, stretching across East Africa.
Arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch at your camp before taking some time to relax. Later in the afternoon, set out on your first game drive, beginning at around 3:30 PM. Explore the reserve’s vast savannahs in search of its incredible wildlife, including the Big Five and other iconic species such as lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, and numerous antelope.
As the sun begins to set, return to your camp at around 6:30 PM for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
Day 2: Enjoy a Full day in Masai Mara
Spend a full day exploring the incredible wildlife of the Masai Mara with your experienced safari guide. You may choose between two game drives—an early morning drive from 6:15 AM to 9:00 AM before breakfast and an afternoon drive from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM after lunch—or opt for a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch at no additional cost.
As this is a private safari, your schedule can be tailored to suit your preferences, making it an excellent choice for families, honeymooners, or anyone seeking a more flexible safari experience.
Throughout the day, search for the reserve’s abundant wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a wide variety of antelope and bird species. Your guide will help you track wildlife while sharing fascinating insights into the animals and the Masai Mara ecosystem.
In the evening, return to your camp for dinner and a restful overnight stay.
Day 3: Return to Nairobi
After a leisurely breakfast, check out of your camp and begin the return journey to Nairobi. Enjoy the scenic drive through the Great Rift Valley, arriving in the city in the early afternoon, typically around 2:30 PM.
Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or transferred directly to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your memorable Masai Mara safari.
