Full Itinerary
Day 1: Exploring Nairobi National Park
The 7 Days Kenya Group tour commences on Day 1 when you will be collected from your choice location in Nairobi and taken to Nairobi National Park, the starting point of your adventure in this tour. You will be in the park by 7:00 am, where you will start your tour and game drive in search of the big cats that are common sights in the morning hours.
Even being so close to the city, the Nairobi National Park is a good place for wildlife viewing and you will get to see some of the elusive big cats such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards while on the game drive. You will also come across many other mammal species such as zebras, impalas, and elands among others during the game drive. While in the park, driving along the riverine and acacia woodlands, you will have an opportunity to see hippos, crocodiles, baboons, and buffaloes among other wildlife;
This is where you will take your lunch. You will resume the park visit after lunch. Despite the fact that animals are expected to be taking shade during the hot time of the day, it is also early afternoon where one gets an opportunity to watch birds within the park. This is where you will be visiting different parts of the park. With the arrival of the golden hour and reduced sunshine, animals will be seen to be moving around, hence giving you a chance to see animals that you could have missed out during the game drive in the morning. After the game drive, you will be taken to Nairobi in an accommodated place.
Day 2: Transfer to Game Paradise the Masai Mara
In the early morning after having breakfast, leave your lodge in Nairobi and begin the journey (225 km) to the Masai Mara National Reserve. It takes about 5 to 6 hours to reach there. Your travel will be through the Ngong Road or Lang’ata Road from Nairobi. You will climb up to the Great Rift Valley where you will make a stop at the viewpoint near Mai Mahiu. Here, you will get the opportunity to look at the amazing view of the scarpment and valley. Travel ahead and drive all the way to Narok Town enjoying the beautiful scenes of farmlands and small towns. You will pass through the Suswa to reach Narok, which is the largest Maasai town on the way.
You can take a small stretch here and for those who prefer to use the toilet facilities can have a chance at this stage in your journey. This will be followed by more travel to Masai Mara National Reserve through murram roads. You will arrive at the park and go straight to the booked safari lodge where you check in for lunch and a rest.
Afternoon game drive to familiarize yourself with this legendary safari park will follow later. You will go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Game viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve
In today’s activity, you are going to spend the whole day in the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve. By 6:00am, you should already have taken your breakfast in your lodge while by 6:30am, you would have been out for the game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve. As the sun rises in the sky, it is an ideal chance for you to see the wildlife being active while the nocturnal go to their hiding places.
The driver guide will transport you to some of the popular locations in the reserve, where you will have a chance to spot different species of animals. You will move through different routes where different species migrate if the timing of the trip is done when the animals are migrating. Lunch will be served at a picnic lunch site.After lunch, continue with the adventure in the reserve. In the evening, return to the lodge for overnight.
Day 4: Leave early morning for a game drive to Lake Nakuru Lodge just on the shores of Lake Nakuru
Set out in the early morning hours for a game drive at Lake Nakuru Lodge situated right on the shores of Lake Nakuru. In the afternoon, head off for a game drive near the lake shores in search of the rare and recently introduced Rothschild’s giraffes, leopards, and various kinds of birds. Overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.
Days 5& 6: Transfer to Amboseli National Park with a close view of the legendary Mt. Kilimanjaro
Transfer to Amboseli National Park with breathtaking views of the renowned Mt. Kilimanjaro. This is inhabited by the famous and colorful Masai tribe.
The acacia woodlands and savanna of the park contain lots of wildlife such as lions, hyenas, buffaloes, cheetahs, wildebeest, and zebras. After lunch in the park, a game drive takes place.The second day will be dedicated to game viewing and hot part of the day at your lodge. We stay for two nights in Ol Tukai Lodge in full board.
Day 7 of 7 Days Kenya Group Holiday Tours: Drive or fly back to Nairobi
Breakfast and then return to Nairobi by road or air. You will have lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant, and afterwards transfer to the airport for the flight home.If you have a very late night flight home, there is always an option of reserving a day room for you to freshen up before leaving.
