There is only one official route for the Mount Meru climb and it is called the ‘Momella route’. The route can be covered in 3 Days Mount Meru Climb however for better acclimatisation, 4 Days Mount Meru Climb is recommended.
Of course you can add separate days for arrival and departure. It is advisable to keep your trip longer, 5-6 days for enjoying the journey and not getting sick in case you are reaching here after long flight hours.
Mount Meru Accommodation
The only accommodation on Mt Meru is the Saddle Hut and Miriakamba Hut which fill up well in advance. For those planning trips in the peak season, it is advised to pack a lightweight tent. Other accommodations include Hatari Lodge, Meru Mbega Lodge, Meru View Lodge and MeruSimba Lodge which are in and around Arusha National Park.
